    1. Herbert Lawrence Aikens was born on 9 Jun 1858 in Barnard. [HBVT, p. 16] He died in Oct 1923 in Masillon, Ohio. [HBVT, p. 16] He married first Minnie Scott of Cleveland. [HBVT, p. 16] He married second Nina Davis of Dayton, Ohio on 20 Feb 1901. [HBVT, p. 16]

Atwood of Barnard. [HBVT, p. 15] She was born about 1847. [HBVT, p. 15] He married second (?) Mary M. Beckwith. [HBVT, p. 15] Mary was the daughter of John P. and Persis Beckwith. [HBVT, p. 15] She was born in 1827 in Champlaine, New York and died on 11 Jul 1870. [HBVT, p. 15] She is buried in the Barnard Center cemetery. [HBVT, p. 15]
    George was a baker. [HBVT, p. 15] He was a soldier in the Civil War. He enlisted in the 1st Vermont Cavalry, Co. E on 25 Aug 1864 and was mustered on on 21 Jun 185. [HBVT1, p. 109]
  5. Charles C. Aikens was adopted by Capt. Daniel Aikens. He died on 26 Jun 1834, age seven. [HBVT, p. 15]
