THOMAS BURPEE (d. 1701) of Rowley

Thomas died on 1 Jun 1701 in Rowley. [Ref][Ref, 1;583] He married first Martha Cheney. [Ref, 1;583] Martha was the daughter of John Cheney of Newbury. [Ref, p. 202] She married first Anthony Sadler of Salisbury, who drowned on 2 May 1650. [Ref, p. 202] She apparently died in child birth and was buried on 24 Jun 1658 in Rowley. [Ref] He married second Sarah Kelly on 15 Apr 1659. [Ref, 1;583]
Cutter [Ref, 1;583] says that Thomas came from England to Massachusetts about 1644, while Emery [Ref, p. 202] says that he was in Boston in 1635. He settled in Rowley in 1651. [Ref, 1;583]

Sarah Burpee was born on 15 Feb 1660/1 in Rowley. [Ref][Ref, 1;583] Her headstone in Bradford says 'Here lyes buried the body of Mrs. Sarah Spafford the wife of Mr. Samuel Spafford who died November ye 18 1729 in the 69 year of her age'. [Ref] She married Samuel Spofford on 5 Dec 1676. [Ref says March] in Rowley. [Ref]
