William Calef was born in in 1706. [Ref, pp. 515-6] He died on 14 Nov 1784. [Ref, pp. 515-6] He married Lois Unknown in Kingston. [Ref, p. 38] She was born about 1717. She died in 1799, age 82. [Ref, pp. 515-6]

Joseph Calef was born on 12 Dec 1742 in Kingston. [Ref, p. 4] He died on 16 May 1823. [Ref, pp. 515-6] He married Hannah Pettingill on 30 Oct 1765 in Kingston. [Ref, p. 38] Hannah was the daughter of Benjamin Pettingill. [Ref, pp. 515-6]

Joseph purchasesd land in Salisbury from Daniel Stevens on 11 Mar 1789. [Ref, pp. 515-6]

ELIZABETH CALEF (1767-1829)

Parents: Joseph Calef and Hannah Pettingill

Elizabeth Calef was born on 1 Oct 1767 in Kingston. [Ref, p. 4] She died on 14 Nov 1829. [Ref, p. 636] She perhaps married John Walker.

Bouton says that John Walker's wife was Betsey Calef of Salisbury, New Hampshire. [Ref]

It appears possible that Elizabeth Calef is the daughter of Joseph and Hannah (Pettingill) Calef, born 1 Oct 1767 in Salisbury, New Hampshire. John and Elizabeth named their first five children Joseph (for her father), James (for his father), Hannah (for her mother), Abiel and Ruth (for his mother).
