  1. Gideon Cobb was born on 11 Apr 1691 in Barnstable. [HCF, p. 80] He died on 22 Feb 1759. [HCF, p. 80] He married Margaret Cleaveland on 22 Sep 1717. [HCF, p. 80] She died on 30 May 1775. [HCF, p. 80]
    Gideon and Margaret were admitted to the church at Stonington on 19 Oct 1718. [HCF, p. 80] The were dismissed to the church at Canada on 12 Jun 1726. [HCF, p. 80] Margaret was admitted to the church at Hampton, Windham Connecticut on 31 Jul 1726. [HCF, p. 80] Gideon and Margaret were admitted to the church at Canterbury, Windham, Connecticut in 1737. [HCF, p. 80]
    It has been suggested that Margaret was the daughter of John Fish, Jr. and his wife Margaret. [HCF, p. 80] After John Fish died, his widow married Samuel Cleaveland of Canterbury and his daughter Margaret was brought up as Margaret Cleaveland. [HCF, p. 80]
    1. Capt. Elkanah Cobb was born about 1722 in Stonington. [HCF, p. 118] He died on 27 Oct 1818, age 96, and is buried in the Carey Cemetery in Canterbury. [CVR] Sarah was the daughter of Nehemiah and Abigail Ensworth. [Ref] She was born about 1731. [HCF, p. 118] She died on 23 Nov 1754, age 23, [HCF, p. 118] in Canterbury [CVR, 2 Nov, no age][CVR] She is buried in the Carey Cemetery. Click here to see a photo of her grave.
