[EHY, pp. 163-4] He married second as her second husband Bethiah (Hall) Winslow on 21 Mar 1729/30. [EHY, pp. 163-4] Bethiah was the daughter of Gershom Hall. [EHY, pp. 163-4] She died on 8 Sep 1745, age 73. [EHY, pp. 163-4] She married first Kenelm Winslow of Harwich. [EHY, pp. 163-4] Joseph married third as her second husband Sarah (Howes) Hopkins. [EHY, pp. 163-4] Sarah was the daughter of Thomas Howes. [EHY, pp. 163-4] She married first Stephen Hopkins. [EHY, pp. 163-4]
    In a deed dated 27 Sep 1734, Joseph Hawes, gentleman, with his wife Bethiah and children, relinquished all rights his wife Mary had had to lands and meadow in Bridgewater and Middleborough that had belonged to Gov. Prence to Cornelius Bennett. [EHY, pp. 163-4]
    Joseph was a deacon. [EHY, pp. 163-4] He was a representative in 1713 and 1714. [EHY, pp. 163-4] He was town clerk and treasurer for seven years from 1729. [EHY, pp. 163-4]
    1. Elizabeth Hawes was born on 6 Nov 1697 in Yarmouth. [EHY, pp. 163-4][MVRY, d. Joseph and Mary] She married Jonathan Sears on 29 Jun 1721 [DRS, p. 72, d. Dea. Joseph] in Yarmouth. [MVRY]
