First Generation

GEORGE KILBOURNE

Parents:

George Kilbourne married Elizabeth Unknown. [Ref] Elizabeth may be the Elizabeth Kilbourne who died on 4 Dec 1692 in Rowley or the Elizabeth Kilbourne who died on 13 Feb 1697/8 in Rowley. [Ref]

George Kilbourne is on the 13 May 1640 list of freemen. [Ref]

George Kilbourne and James Barker were near neighbours in the west part of Rowley. [Ref] On 8 Jan 1668/9 George Kilbourne and James Barker were chosen judges for the west end of town to hear the cases of people who failed to attend town meetings. [Ref] They were on a jury of inquest which returned a verdict on 29 Jan 1670/1. [Ref] The were on the same side in a dispute of some parishners who did not want to make a payment to Rev. Jeremiah Shephard on 18 Jan 1676/7. [Ref]

The inventory of George's estate was presented on 20 Nov 1685. The largest creditor was his eldest son Joseph (£11 18s). The largest debtors were his son Samuel Kilbourne (£8) and Nathaniel Barker (£20).

JOSEPH KILBOURNE (1652 - 1706) of Rowley

Joseph Kilbourne was born on 5 (2) 1652 in Rowley. [Ref][Ref] He was slain by Indians on 10 Jul 1706 at Dunstable. [Ref] He married Mary Trumble on 30 May 1678 [Ref] in Rowley. [Ref]
