Thomas Richardson was buried on 8 Jan 1633 in Westmill. [Ref] He married Katherine Duxford [Ref] of Westmill on 24 Aug 1590 in Westmill. [Ref] She was buried on 10 Mar 1631 in Westmill. [Ref]
Thomas Richardson of Westmill, husbandman, signed his will with his mark on 4 Mar 1630. He mentioned Katherine, John, James, Thomas and Samuel. His will was proved on 31 Jul 1634 in Hitchin. [Ref]
Katherine was the daughter of Richard Duxford. Richard also had a daughter Joan, who married John Darde on 20 Oct 1583 in Westmill, and a son William who died in 1612. William married Alice Heminge on 9 Jun 1595 in Westmill. She died in Apr 1619. [Ref]
On 23 Mar 1618 Richard Duxford, husbandman of Westmill, signed his will with his mark. He mentioned Joan Darde, who was left the tenement where Francis Wyman was living, his son William Duxford and his daughter Katherine Richardson. The will was proved on 2 Jul 1622. Richard's estate amounted to about five pounds. [Ref]

Ezekial Richardson was born about 1604. [Ref] He died on 21 Oct 1647. [Ref] He married Susanna Unknown. Susanna died on 15 Sep 1681. [Ref] She married second Henry Brooks as his second wife. [Ref] Henry died on 12 Apr 1883. [Ref] He had an unknown first wife; he married Annes Jacquith on 12 Jul 1682. [Ref]
Ezekial migrated to New England from Westmill, Hertfordshire in 1630. [Ref] He and Susanna were admitted to the Boston church as members 80 and 81 in the winter of 1630/1. [Ref] He is on the 18 May 1631 list of freemen. [Ref]
Foster [Ref] asserts that Ezekiel came to New England on the Arbella and that Susanna's last name was Bradford.
Ezekial and Susanna were early settlers of Charlestown. On 14 Oct 1632, they were dismissed from the Boston church and on 2 Nov 1632 they were among the founding members of the Charlestown church. [Ref] Ezekiel was the constable on 3 Apr 1622. [Ref] He was on the committee to lay out lots on 9 Jan 1633/4 and 23 Nov 1635. [Ref] He was a selectman on 10 Feb 1634/5 and 12 Feb 1637/8. [Ref] He was on the committee to lay out highways on 10 Feb 1634/5, 12 Feb 1637/8 and 20 Dec 1638. [Ref] On 13 Jun 1634, he was one of ten settlers to sign an agreement that no one would be permitted to dwell there without the consent of the town. [Ref] He was deputy to the General Court from Charlestown on 2 Sep 1635. [Ref] He was on the commitee to regulate wages on 28 Nov 1636. [Ref] He was on the committee on stinting the common on 17 Feb 1636/6. [Ref] He was on the petit jury on 19 Sep 1637. [Ref] He was the Charlestown member of the colony committee to value livestock on 13 May 1640. [Ref]
Ezekiel and Susan moved to Woburn in 1640. [Ref] Ezekiel was commissioner for small causes at Woburn on 10 May 1643. [Ref] He was on the committee to lay out the highway between Cambridge and Woburn on 10 May 1643. [Ref]
On 15 Nov Ezekiel Richardson was one of eight Charlestown men who admitted their error in signing the petition in favor of Wheelwright and were allowed to remove their names. [Ref]
Ezekial was of Woburn when he signed his will on 20 Jul 1647. He mentions his wife Susanna; his eldest son Theophilus; his sons Josias and James; his daughter Phebe; his brothers Samuel and Thomas and Thomas's son Thomas. [Ref] Inventory on his estate, taken 18 Nov 1647, amounted to about £190, with no real estate included. [Ref] The will was proved on 1 Jun 1648.
On 27 Mar 1651, Samuel Richeson of Woburn and Susanna Brooks signed a deed with their marks: "Samuel Richardson having formerly sold unto Ezekiel Richardson, my brother (who is deceased) forty acres of arable land ... do now resign up the same to my sister Susanna Brooks (who was wife of my deceased brother Ezekiel Richardson) for her life time ... ". On 13 Dec 1659, Henry and Susanna Brookes of Woburn deeded land and housing to Theophilus Richardson: "Henry Brooks and Susanna Brooks of Woburn ... have resigned unto Theophilus Richardson all right in the moiety or half part of the housing and lands of late Ezekiel Richardson of Woburn." [Ref]

Thomas Richardson was baptised on 3 Jul 1608 in Westmill. [Ref] He died on 28 Aug 1651 in Woburn. [Ref][Ref] He married Mary Unknown. She died on 19 May 1670. [Ref] Mary married second as his second wife Michael Bacon, the son of Michael Bacon [Ref] in Woburn. [Ref]
Thomas and Mary were in New England by 1635. [Ref] Mary joined the First Church in Charlestown on 2[?] (12) 1635. [Ref] Thomas was admitted on 18 (12) 1637. [Ref] He was admitted freeman in Woburn in 1638. [Ref]
Thomas and his brother Samuel are on the 2 May 1638 list of freemen. [Ref]
Inventory on his estate, amounting to about £133 plus £80 of real estate, was taken on 22 Sep 1651. Attached to the inventory is a note: "He hath left a wife, three sons and four daughters. The eldest son in 8 years old; the second 6 years; and the third, three-quarters. The eldest daughter is 13 years old, the second 11 years; the third, 4 years; the fourth 2 years." [Ref]

CAPT. JOSIAH RICHARDSON (1634-1695) of Chelmsford

Capt. Josiah Richardson was baptised on 7 Nov 1634 in Charlestown. [Ref][Ref] He died on 22 Jun or Jul 1695 in Chelmsford. [Ref][Ref] He married Remembrance Underwood [Ref] on 6 Jun 1659 in Concord (recorded in Chelmsford). [Ref][Ref]
Josiah and his brother James went to Chelmsford as early as 1659. [Ref] Josiah's father-in-law William Underwood had gone in 1654. [Ref]
"There being no saw mill nearer than Concord or Woburn, and neither roads nor bridges between those places and Chelmsford, the first who came must have been compelled to erect log houses for their shelter, although there is a tradition that William Fletcher had a frame house in 1654. There is a tradition also that Josiah Richardsons first shelter was partly formed by digging into the bank." [Ref] "Capt. Josiah Richardson located upon what is now the road leading from Westford to Lowell ...". [Ref]
He was chosen fence viewer in 1659. [Ref] On 3 (1) 1662-3 Thomas Adams and Josiah Richardson were chosen to join with a Groton committee to lay out a road between the two towns. [Ref] Josiah was constable in 1667. [Ref] He was selectman in 1668, 1673, 1677, 1679, 1680 and then every year until 1688, and again in 1694. [Ref] On 30 (3) 1671 the selectman of Chelmsford assessed the residents of the town to pay the minister; Josiah was assessed a moderate rate: £1.19.4. [Ref] Josiah is in the Chelmsford section of the 11 Mar 1673/4 list of freemen. [Ref] In 1678 the town chose For a Comite to order the seating in metting house Capt thom hinchman, Capt Samell Adams, en[sign] Thom Adams william vnderwod, Josiah Richardson [Ref] In 1679 the County Court of Middlesex requested certain information from its towns. Chelmsford responded that Josiah Richardson had been chosen by the freemen of the the town to attend the adjournment of the county court in Cambridge the last Wednesday in March. [Ref] Josiah was town clerk 1690 - 1694. [Ref] He was captain of the military company. [Ref]
In 1669 the town of Chelmsford granted Josiah, Maj. Thomas Henchman and William Fletcher land to encourage another saw mill. [Ref, p. 11] They erected the second sawmill in town in 1669. [Ref][Ref, p. 10] The land is now mainly in Westford. [Ref, p. 10]
Some Indians "from the love they bore to" Josiah, conveyed a parcel of land at the confluence of the Concord and Merrimack rivers to him on 19 Jan 1688/9. [Ref]
Josiah left no will. [Ref] Remembrance and his seven surviving children divided his substantial estate, assessed at £697.5.6, on 12 Mar 1695/6. [Ref]

Bridget Richardson was born on 23 Apr 1726 in Chelmsford. [Ref] She died on 8 Jun 1770 [Ref][Ref] in Westford. [Ref, the wife of Timothy and the daughter of Capt. Zach. Richardson] She married Timothy Fletcher [Ref] after 15 Feb 1745/6 (int.) in Chelmsford. [Ref]
Bridget was the author of a small volume of hymns, published by her son Rev. Elijah Fletcher about 1774. [Ref]
