John Traine was born about 1610. He died on 29 Jan 1680/1. [Ref] He married first Margaret Dix. Margaret was born about 1616/7. She died on 18 Dec 1660, age 44. [Ref] John married second Abigail Bent on 12 Oct 1675. [Ref] She died on 17 Aug 1691. [Ref]
John Trane, 25, and Margaret Dix, 18, were on an 18 April 1635 list of those to be transported to New England on the Susan and Ellen; they were to travel as servants of Percival and Elinor Green. [Ref][Ref]. There is no further record of Margaret Dix in New England so it has been conjectured that she is the Margaret who married John Train. [Ref]
John took the oath of fidelity in Watertown in 1652. [Ref] He bought ten acres from George Parkhurst on 13 Jun 1655. [Ref]
John Traine, Sr. witnessed the 23 Jun 1674 will of Michael Barstow of Watertown, signing with his mark. [Ref]
