Parents: Robert Bird and Amy Unknown

Dorothy Bird was born about 1589. She died on 2 Aug 1676 in Hartford. [Ref] She married Thomas Lord on 20 Feb 1610/1. [Ref]

On 10 Feb 1610/1 Thomas was issued a marriage license in Peterborough, allowing him to marry Dorothy, the daughter of Robert Bird of Towcester. [Ref]

Thomas Lord, a 50-year-old smith, Dorothy, his 46-year-old wife and their children Thomas (16), Ann (14), William (12), John (10), Robert (9), Amy (6) and Dorothy (4) are on a 29 Apr 1635 list of passengers to be transported to New England on the Elizabeth and Ann. [Ref]

Thomas probably died before 14 May 1663, when the General Court ordered Dorothy to mend the fence granted to her and her husband. [Ref]

Dorothy made her will on 8 Feb 1669 in Hartford. She bequeathed her home and property to the children of her son Thomas, who died when 18 [!]. She mentions her daughter Amy Gilbert and her children; sons Robert, William and John; grandson Richard Lord; three Ingersoll children; daughter Stanton, the wife of Nicholas Clark. She left her son William her silver drinking bowl and her great brass kettle. [Ref] Little appears to be known about the wife of Nicholas Clark of Hartford.
