HISTORY:
- Settled as part of Hampton in 1638
- Hampton became part of Norfolk County in Massachusetts in 1643
- New Hampshire towns split from Massachusetss in 1679
- Became the Third Parish in Hampton in 1709
- Incorporated as Hampton Falls in 1726
- The western part of Hampton Falls became the town of Kensington in
1732
- Throat distemper (perhaps diptheria) killed 214 people, including
96 children under age 10, in 1735 - 1736
- An attempt was made to make Hampton Falls part of Massachusetts in
1739
- Presbyterians formed a new parish, incorporated as Seabrook in 1768
