Parents: Unknown

Thomas Reed died between Jul 1665, when he wrote his will, and Mar 1666, when it was proved. [Ref] He married Rachel Unknown.

In his will, dated 13 Jul 1665, Thomas, a carpenter of Colchester, speaks of his son Thomas in New England and his daughter Mary and her husband, Daniel Bacon, who are also living in New England. [Ref][Ref, p. 377-378]

Thomas Reed died on 13 Sep 1701 in Sudbury. [Ref][Ref, 3;519, says 19 Sep] He married first Katherine Unknown. She died on 26 Sep 1677 in Sudbury. [Ref][Ref] He married second Mary Wood on 7 Mar 1677[/8] in Sudbury. [Ref] He married third Arabella Thong on 29 Dec 1689 in Sudbury. [Ref] She died on 29 Apr 1717 in Sudbury. [Ref]

By the will and depositions of Rev. Edmund Brown, Thomas was his cousin [or nephew]. Thomas settled in land in the Lanham district of Sudbury that he bought from Edmund Brown while in England. [Ref, p. 50]

Thomas may be the Thomas Reed who was a freeman in 1656. [Ref 3;519] He was appointed juror for Sudbury in 1663 [Ref, 1;162] He was a tything man. [Ref, p. 50]

In 1670 Thomas Reed, Sr. sold one third of a farm originally granted to Rev. Edmund Brown near Doeskin Hill in Sudbury to Matthew Gibbs. [Ref 1;186]

In 1677 the town gave Thomas leave to build a sawmill on Hop Brook. [Ref, p. 50]

Thomas Reed lost only three pounds worth of property in the Indian attack on Sudbury on 21 Apr 1676. [Ref]

Mary Reed died on 4 Oct 1691 in Newton. [Ref][Ref] She married Daniel Bacon. [Ref]

Daniel Bacon calls Thomas Read his father-in-law in a 16 Jul 1668 deed and refers to Thomas's daughter Mary as his wife. [Ref, p. 111-2] In 1678 Daniel gave a deed in observance of the last will and testament of Thomas Read of Colchester, co. Essex, England. [Ref, p. 112]

The clock was to remain in his home and be his son Jacob's after his wife's death. [Ref] In his will, he mentions his daughters Lois Hill and Experience, Sarah, Mary and Ruth Reed. [Ref]
