RICHARD WILLARD (aft. 1616) of Horsmonden

Parents: Richard Willard

Richard Willard died after 12 Feb 1616. Richard Willard of Horsmonden married second Margery Humferie of Marden on 23 Sep 1601 in Westgate. [Ref] She was buried on 12 Dec 1608 in Horsmonden. [Ref]

He was of Horsmonden, Kent. [Ref]

In his will, dated 12 Feb 1616, Richard mentions his brother-in-law Thomas Humferie; his brother-in-law Robert Goure of Staplehurst, yeoman; his kinsman Thomas Raynes. [Ref]

Robert Gooer of Staplehurst, husbandman, married Ellen Reynes, widow, on 16 May 1593. [Ref]

Children of Richard Willard and Margery Humferie:

  1. Margery Willard was baptised on 7 Nov 1602 in Horsmonden. She died after 17 Jul 1658 and probably before 16 Feb 1668. She married Dolor Davis.
  2. Maj. Simon Willard [Ref] was born in 1605. [Ref] He was baptised on 7 Apr 1605 in Horsmonden. [Ref, p. 296] He married first Mary Sharpe. [Ref] He married second Eliza Dunster. [Ref] She died shortly thereafter and he married third her sister Mary Dunster. [Ref] Simon had 17 children. [Ref]
    Simon came to New England in 1605. [Ref] He settled in Concord. [Ref] In May 1657 he was appointed one of three commissioners to order the affairs of Lancaster. [Ref] He was persuaded with offers of land grants to settle there. [Ref] In 1672 he moved to his Nonacoicus farm, a 500-acre grant. [Ref] He was elected Assistant from 1654 to his death. [Ref]

MARGERY WILLARD (bp. 1602 - prob. 1658/1668)

Parents: Richard Willard [Ref][Ref, p. 296] and Margery Humferie

Margery Willard was baptised on 7 Nov 1602 in Horsmonden. [Ref, p. 296] She died after 17 Jul 1658 and probably before 16 Feb 1668. She married Dolor Davis on 29 Mar 1624 in East Farleigh, co. Kent. [Ref]

On 17 Apr 1635, Margaret Davis, age 32, John Davis, age 4, and Elizabeth Davis, age 1, were enrolled for passage to New England on the Elizabeth. [Ref, p. 297]

On 17 Jul 1658, Dolor sold Abraham Blush his house lot and land in Barnstable; this was acknowledged by Dolor and Margery. [Ref, p. 294] When this was acknowledged again on 16 Feb 1667/[8?], Margery did not take part. [Ref, p. 294]

GEORGE WILLARD of Scituate

George Willard was baptised on 4 Dec 1611 in Horsmonden. [Ref, p. 296]

He immigrated to Scituate and Maryland. [Ref, p. 296]

Children of George Willard:

  1. Deborah Willard was baptised on 14 Sep 1645 in Scituate. She died on 13 May 1721 in Yarmouth. She married Paul Sears.

DEBORAH WILLARD (bp. 1645 - 1721)

Deborah Willard was baptised on 14 Sep 1645 in Scituate. She died on 13 May 1721 in Yarmouth. [Ref, widow Paul] She married Paul Sears in 1658 in Yarmouth.
