Generation 1
Stephen Deane came to New England on the Fortune in 1621. [Ref] He built the first corn mill in New England in 1632. [Ref] He married Elizabeth, the daughter of the widow Mary Ring. [Ref] She died by 3 May 1687 in Eastham, when inventory was taken on her estate. [Ref] She married second Josiah Cook on 16 Sep 1635. [Ref]
In her will, dated 1633, Mary Ring left a bequest to her daughter Elizabeth, the wife of Stephen Deane. [Ref] It is not known if Elizabeth is Elizabeth Ring or the daughter of a previous husband of Mary Ring.
